Monthly Update - April 2025

APOLOGIES that this is SEVERAL days late! I've been sick with a cold and I've been prioritizing rest over anything else.

Hey all! Welcome to my monthly update covering my Let's Plays and other projects, cross-posted to my personal blog and to my Patreon. Read on to see what I've been up to!

Let's Plays

First up is the progress on my Let's Plays which are posted to YouTube and Patreon.

Mega Man Legends 2

The finale of Mega Man Legends 2 has released! I am a little sad I ended up using the Shining Laser on the final boss, mostly because it's so powerful, even not fully maxed out. Otherwise, very happy with how it turned out!

Final Fantasy XIV

We are now 1/3rd through Heavensward in the public releases and currently are taking a break while I get more ready. I have a good buffer recorded and ready to go, just giving myself a little more time to take it easy as I have recently been sick with a cold. In terms of recording, I am past the half way point of Heavensward!

LP #018

I have recorded 16 episodes of the new Let's Play at this point. It's going quite well I think, though certain aspects of how the game flows makes it a little hard on my end to manage the recordings. It's fine though, not a big deal.

I'm experimenting with a few changes to my usual style with this LP as well and I'm hoping they are well received or at least lead to good feedback!

Twitch Streams

Next up is what I'm doing on Twitch!

Saturday Game Night

We are now seven streams into Xenoblade X and just shy of 20% completion. I am thinking that once I finish chapter 6 in a couple more streams, I will take a break to play another game. Ori and the Blind Forest is tempting... Once that is done, we will of course return to Xenoblade X.

Other Projects

Next up are miscellaneous other projects I'm working on!

Game Development

Ok, let's do this. Finally getting back to it. I'm assigning Thursdays and Fridays after work to be my "get shit done" days for game development. Throw all standards out, I need to actually make the game. The quality will come with time.

I've come to a realization recently that I think what I ultimately want is to be a writer, and games are my preferred medium. So maybe if I approach from that perspective, it will be helpful?

General Programming

I have a few programming projects I want to work on, so I'm assigning Mondays and Tuesdays after work to be my "get shit done" days for whatever programming projects. First up, I'm trying to learn Rust and to do that I want to write a filesystem extractor for Xenoblade X. The reverse engineering community has already done an incredible job of documenting everything, so I just need to figure out how to implement it in this new (to me) language. After that, I kinda want to work on a Triple Triad solver? Not sure how in depth I'll go on that. I have plans for how it all would work if I went into it in full at least.

Coming Up

Final Fantasy XIV resumes tomorrow!

Let's Play #018 begins tomorrow!

I finally get back to other projects!
